Virtues of Friday

Picture
Friday, Jumuah in Arabic, is derived from al-Jam which means, gathering. Friday is the greatest day of the week and has many virtues. On this day, Allah created Adam, placed him in Paradise on Friday, and taken out on Friday. Moreover, the Last Hour will begin on a Friday.

We have listed several virtues of Friday as revealed to us by Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Clck here to read more...

Muslim-izing the Tebow

Picture
Tim Tebow, the newly traded polarizing starting quarterback of the New York Jets, has made headlines regularly throughout the 2011-2012 football season. His staunch supporters love him because of his “god-like” athletic talent (which by the way is shirk. Plus, he is a mediocre quarterback). The anti-Tebow crowd  heavily dislikes him because of his attention-whoring antics on the field such as “Tebowing” on the field. “Tebowing” is getting down on one knee to pray to God regardless of what’s going on around you. SPRING 2012

Picture
It's here! The Spring 2012 issue featuring The Sound of Reason is finally here.
In this issue, we talk about what it really means to be a Muslim in the West. We're faced with many questions that arise in dilemmas in our everyday lives. Muhammad becomes Moe. Sadia becomes Stacey. Beards go away and frohawks come into play. Why is that? Is that okay?
Attending interfaith meetings at the local community center doesn't mean you sugar coat the message nor does it mean you somewhat change the wordings around so it appears to be "appealing."
We shouldn't be afraid to be Muslims. We can't. There is nothing wrong with men growing beards and women covering their bodies. In fact, we should be proud. Why? Because it's part of the message revealed to us by Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Click here to read more...
